A CREATIVE DIRECTOR and OTHER THINGS.
WORDS MATTER, BUT JOB TITLES DON’T.
Jennifer grew up with strong accents all around her. A family from Pittsburgh, she spent her formative years in Wisconsin, a land famous for foam cheese hats and squeaky cheese curds, and unions, and cold cold winters with wind whipping off of Lake Michigan. But not as famous as Minnesota Nice or Fargo Humor.
An intense curiosity about the world and how people live and create culture in it drove her to Journalism School, living abroad, and hacking it as a writer before finally moving to New York City. She started her advertising career in a roundabout way—like so many things that are good, but unexpected—guided by unapologetic creative leaders who trained the no-ad-school copywriter how to think big, present smart, and to keep searching for the heart and purpose of a campaign.
Never solely a traditional copywriter, Jenn embraced social media, culture, and technology from the start of her ad career. From campaigns and broadcast to AR, social challenges to brand experiences at Comic-Con—a wide breadth of work has been seen in AdWeek, Ad Age, Working Not Working, Fast Company, CN Traveler, SET Magazine, The FADER, and more. She’s won awards along the way too.
Now as a Creative Director, Jenn wants to pass on the chance that her first boss gave her. A champion of creatives with non-linear paths and diverse teams, she’s made it a priority to mentor people who want to celebrate the way culture can help tell real human stories for brands and beyond.
In her free time, Jenn has launched a global, digital art project, volunteers her advertising brain to orgs that do good in the world, and hangs out with her aussiedoodle, Judy Chicago, at The Rockaways and in her backyard in Brooklyn.
If you think the in-betweens and what-ifs are fun too, lets work together.
